My Injection Experience With Acqua Medspa

This has been a highly anticipated post! I let y’all know on Instagram that I was visiting Acqua Medspa for some cosmetic pampering and I got so many questions afterward! I promise I will address all of them, but first, I wanted to share my injection experience and why I think you should choose Acqua Medspa for your aesthetic needs!

First off, I had been following my injector, Braidee, on Instagram for a long time! I’m talking even before I started my blog! I came across her work on Instagram and I just knew she would be my injector in the future. I cannot stress enough how important it is to find the right injector! You want someone who is experienced, has a portfolio to show and works for a reputable establishment. I have heard so many girls say “So and so does injections so cheap”, “I found a Groupon for x-amount so it’s less expensive”, the list goes on and on. Let me stop you and say, you are talking about letting someone enhance parts of your FACE! Your money maker honey! You cannot just trust a random person, DO YOUR RESEARCH! And lucky for you, if you are in the Houston area (or willing to travel!) I’ve done the research for you 🙂

I set my appointment with Braidee at Acqua Medspa a couple weeks ago and anxiously counted down the days til we would meet! When I arrived for my appointment, Braidee was waiting for me in the most gorgeous lobby! You may think a beautiful establishment isn’t that important, but I can assure you, you can tell how well you will be taken care of by how well they take care of their office. Acqua Medspa wants you to feel comfortable and like a member of their family. I’m not kidding when I say I left my appointment feeling like I made three new best friends! Plus, their office was only about 20 minutes away from apartment in Upper Kirby so it was really convenient to get to and easy to find!

Before we got down to business, Braidee went over the product that would be used and asked what look I was trying to achieve. They are all about enhancing your features in a natural manner which was so very important to me. I only wanted to enhance, not completely alter. For my treatments, we used Restalyne in my lips and Dysport for my forehead and frown lines. I had lip filler about 3 years ago when I lived in Colorado, so I was long overdue for a touch-up! Braidee applied numbing cream to my lips first, and while we let that set in, we got started on the Dysport. Now I was thinking to myself, “OMG she about to stick me how many times in my forehead!? Where’s the numbing cream for that!? Jesus take the wheel!” I was freeeeaking out on the inside Y’all! Then Braidee assured me it would feel like a tiny pinch, so I took a deep breath and braced myself for the worst when in reality, I felt absolutely nothing! Ask my Hubby, I have the lowest pain tolerance known to man, and I promise I didn’t feel a thing! Plus, the Dysport treatment took only a few minutes. I was beyond pleased with how quick and painless the procedure was.

 

After we were done with the Dysport and the numbing cream had reached its full effect, (including numbing my tongue because only I would be the weirdo to lick the numbing cream) we got started on my lips using the Restalyne product. With the numbing cream, I felt very minimal pinching, nothing overwhelming or that couldn’t be handled. Braidee was a perfectionist when it came to my lip injections. She’d do her thing, step back, evaluate, makes some adjustments. I completely put my trust in her. I didn’t even look in the mirror until it was all said and done because I just knew she’d do an amazing job. She made sure I was comfortable and even offered me a stress ball just in case!

I was very happy with how minimal the discomfort was. Post-treatment was also a breeze. There was one or two raised bumps from my Dysport treatment that were gone by the time I ate dinner. My lips were a bit sensitive for the next two days, and there was some mild swelling and bruising, but nothing a little ice and concealer couldn’t fix! I’m a few days past 1 week post treatment and all swelling and bruising is gone and I’m left with the beautiful lips and smoothed lines I was expecting!

When all was said and done I couldn’t stop looking in the mirror! Those forehead lines where my makeup would collect at the end of the day were smoothing out. My thin top lip that I used to be teased about was now proportionate to my bottom lip. I immediately felt like my face was much more balanced. I felt amazing and so beautiful! It wasn’t just the services I got that made me feel great, it was also how kind the staff at Acqua Medspa was that made me feel so at home! Morgan and Kendra all assisted with my experience and were so encouraging the whole time! They call the ladies in the office the Acqua Angels which I absolutely LOVE because this group of ladies was seriously nothing short of angels!

Just like when you have a great experience with a waiter at your favorite restaurant, once you experience the level of customer service at Acqua Medspa, you will never want to go anywhere else, trust me! I stand firm on only sharing with y’all my experiences that I truly believe in, I cannot praise them enough. I can’t wait to return to check out their other aesthetic procedures! Aside from injections, Acqua Medspa provides so many different services from facials, laser treatments, Coolsculpting, peels, you name it!
