Happy Saturday, Babes!
The last 48 hours have been a serious whirlwind for my family and I. If you follow me on my Instagram, you may have seen that I flew to New York on Thursday morning and flew back to Houston on Friday night. Talk about jet lag! Anyways, I contemplated on how much of my life I should truly share with you guys. is there such a thing as sharing too much? Probably. but, earlier this week I wrote a post about being authentic and real in this influencer/blogger world, so I figured I could share something dear to me with you all today.
On Sunday, March 25, my sweet Grandma Josie went home to be with the Lord. It was a major heartbreak to my family, but we are comforted knowing she is at peace now with her Husband, my Grandpa, after being on this Earth for 94 years. I could write an entire post about the amazing and genuine person my Grandma was, but I will just share that she was a kind, selfless human, who would do anything not only for her family but for a stranger as well. She will be so very missed.
So, my Husband and I hopped on a plane Thursday morning to say our final goodbyes. It was a very quick trip, spent with all of my giant Italian side of the family enjoying each others company and of course, delicious food! I didn’t pack a million outfits to shoot in the city like I normally would during a trip, but I did snap a few shots of the beautiful dress I wore to my Grandma’s service. Sorry for the low quality, I just had my twin snap a few pictures on my phone and used a simple editing app 🙁 At first, I questioned whether or not it was really appropriate to share an outfit that I wore to something so personal, but again, I want to be open and real with you all. My Grandma always made sure I knew how beautiful I was in her eyes, so I feel she would be perfectly fine with me sharing it with you all.
I may have worn it to a funeral, but it’s such a pretty and simple little black dress that it can be worn for almost any occasion. It would be perfect for a wedding, graduation, or work event. And what I love most is that it is from my beloved Stage Stores!
