My name is Jeannette Ross and I am the author of The Blended Blonde! I’ve finally decided to dive into the blog world and face my fear with this first blog post, yay! I have always enjoyed reading blogs and scrolling through fashion bloggers Instagram feeds and thought I would love to do the same thing someday. I had been going back and forth on the idea of starting my own blog for some time and the idea honestly terrified me! Putting yourself out there for the world to see is intimidating. Will people care about what I have to write? Will people want to follow me? Am I pretty enough? Tall enough? Relevant enough? So many questions with so little answers! After many repetitive talks with my husband (aka convincing him to be my photographer) and countless hours of consideration, I have decided to just go for it!

Deciding on a blog name was daunting, Y’all! With so many different bloggers out there it was hard to decide on a name that was different but still felt authentic. I knew I wanted to tie in my blonde locks with my desire to write about all of the different things going on in my life and then it finally clicked to me! The Blended Blonde is a blend of all things fashion, beauty and the way I live. If you haven’t already, you can get to know me a little better here!

When first discussing starting a blog, I initially got some negative feedback. Why do you want to do that when everyone is doing it? Do you know anything about blogging? Blogging is such a saturated market, you won’t make it. WELL. Let me start off by saying I have always enjoyed writing from a young age. I participated in UIL Creative Writing throughout elementary and middle school, and I even had a poem published once. That’s right, young Jeannette was a poet back in the day! Fast forward to 2018, after MONTHS of researching blogs, web hosting, start-up costs, all the boring not fun stuff, I’ve taken a passion and turned it into my newest hobby. As far as the whole saturated market thing goes, I didn’t start this blog with hopes of one day quitting my job and relying on this solely for my income. I absolutely LOVE my job as an E-commerce retail buyer and couldn’t imagine ever not doing it. I just wanted to focus on creating a better space for like-minded readers to connect. So the “saturated market” thing doesn’t bother me.  Plus, I’ve been known to stand out amongst my peers, so let’s see if I can carry that reputation over into the blog world!

It’s exciting to have a creative space where I can help my fellow babes feel more comfortable with who they are and feel gorgeous in their own skin. We all need some inspiration from time to time, and I aspire to bring that to you here in an empowering and positive way. I have always valued community over competition, and hope that we can grow to end the jealousy and negativity that is so common! This is a space where I want to cultivate an interactive environment that is fun, helpful, and adds value to your lifestyle!
